    Part B338-8100 is the slide bushing for the variable speed control fitted to Riccar Prima and Simplicity Wonder canister vacuums. The bushing is the bearing surface the control rides on, holding it square and giving the slider its smooth, even travel between settings.

    A worn bushing is easy to feel before it is easy to see. The control develops side-to-side play, catches partway through its range, or drifts off a setting on its own while the machine runs. Because the bushing wears long before the electronics do, fitting a new one often restores normal operation without touching the control or the board.
