Riccar and Simplicity uprights share a telescopic wand design that also turns up on the Maytag M1200, and this brushed aluminum assembly replaces it.

It fits the Riccar Brilliance R30, R30D, R30P, R30P.DS, R30PET, R30D.4, R30D.6 and R30PET.4, and the Riccar Radiance R40, R40.LE, R40.2, R40P.LE, R40P, R40P.2, R40P.4 and R40P.6. On the Simplicity side it fits the Synchrony S30, S30D, S30P, S30P.DS and S30PET, and the Synergy S40, S40.2, S40P.LE, S40P and S40P.2.

A wand that is bent, dented, or no longer locks at the length you set loses suction at the floor tool, since air leaks in along the tube instead of pulling through at the nozzle. Replacing it restores a firm lock and full airflow through the tube.
