A stub tube is the short rigid section at the handle end of an electric hose, and this Wessel Werk version, part 12.63844-305, includes the cord management channel that keeps the powerhead wire clipped along the tube instead of flapping loose. It is listed for the Wessel Werk 1020.

Stub tubes get dropped, stepped on and levered against furniture, and the cord clips are usually first to go. Once the channel breaks the wire hangs free, snags on chair legs and pulls at its terminals. A cracked tube itself leaks air right at the handle, where you feel the suction loss most.
