An 18 inch internal lead wire in white, stocked as part B333-2500. Lead wires are the short runs that carry current between the components inside a vacuum: switch to motor, board to lamp, cord set to switch. The white insulation is how the correct leg is identified during reassembly.
Wiring is worth replacing rather than repairing when the insulation has gone brittle near a heat source or a strand has broken inside a crimp. A wire that is intact along its length but broken at the terminal produces the most frustrating fault of all, because the machine works until it is moved. The shorter black companion lead is stocked as B333-2400 at 12 inch.
