Kenmore Wire Harness - 2-Wi...

Product details

This two-wire harness carries electrical current between the switch, the motor, and the power cord inside a Kenmore 1305 canister vacuum. Like any wiring that flexes every time the canister is picked up or moved, it fatigues over years of normal use.

People troubleshooting a vacuum tend to reach for the motor or the switch first, when the real culprit is often buried in the wiring between them. A machine that cuts out on and off, only runs when the cord or canister sits at a particular angle, or loses power mid-clean with no warning is worth checking for damaged internal wiring before you spend money on bigger parts.

This is part 591004569, a two-wire harness built specifically for the Kenmore 1305. Kenmore's canister wiring differs by generation, so verify your machine's exact model before ordering rather than assuming this harness is a universal fit. Unplug the machine before opening the body to inspect or swap it out.

Flex fatigue on internal wiring tends to concentrate at the two points where a harness bends the most: right where it exits the cord reel or strain relief, and wherever it crosses a hinge point in the housing. Inspecting those two spots closely on the old harness, rather than the full length, usually tells you where the break actually happened. Gently flexing the old harness at each of those points while watching the machine's response, if it is safe to do with power connected, can also localize an intermittent fault before you commit to a full harness swap.
