End cap for a wooden agitator used in full-size power nozzles, part B350-3242. The cap closes off the end of the brushroll and carries the bearing surface the roll turns on, so it is the piece that sets how true the agitator runs inside the nozzle housing.
End caps take a beating that the roll itself does not. Hair and thread wrap tightly at the ends, and the heat and drag from that wrap chews the cap long before the brush strips are finished. Signs of a failing cap are a brushroll that sits low at one end, a rhythmic knock as it turns, or brush strips wearing hard on one side.
