Bissell HEPA Upright Filter - 3918

Part 2032663 is the HEPA filter for the same family of Bissell CleanView uprights, and it works at the opposite end of the airflow from the foam pre-filter. Everything the vacuum picks up eventually passes through here before the air goes back into the room.

This one is not washable in any useful sense. HEPA media traps by depth as well as at the surface, and running water through it collapses the structure that does the work. Replace rather than rinse, every six to twelve months in a normal home and more often with pets in the house.

Two symptoms say it is due: the vacuum sounds like it is straining while picking up less than it used to, and the exhaust develops a dusty, closed-room smell. It fits the 1813, 1819, 1820, 1823, 1825, 2410, 2488, 2489, 2490, 2491, 3583, 3918, 4207 and 9595.
