The washable foam filter for Bissell's CleanView uprights, part 2032662. Foam sits early in the airflow, catching the bulk of the fine dust before it can reach the pleated filter or the motor behind it.
Because it is washable, most owners rinse it and put it back, which is right up to a point. Rinse under cool water, squeeze rather than wring, and let it dry completely before refitting; a damp foam filter smells within a day and blocks airflow while it is wet. What rinsing cannot fix is the foam itself breaking down. When it tears at the edges, crumbles between your fingers or stays compressed instead of springing back, its pores have collapsed and it is doing more harm than good.
It fits the 1813, 1819, 1820, 1823, 1825, 2410, 2488, 2489, 2490, 2491, 3583, 3918, 4207 and 9595.
