Bissell part 2031824 is the hose assembly for the PowerForce Bagged uprights, and it comes complete with its wand. It carries suction from the machine body up to the tools, and on these models it doubles as the structural link you pull on when working along a staircase.
Hoses fail from the inside and at the ends. A split near the cuff, a pinhole worn where the hose rubs the body, or a cracked collar all bleed air, and the symptom is the same: the floor head still works but the tools have no pull. Rule out a blockage first by feeding a length of cord through before deciding the hose is finished.
It fits the PowerForce Bagged 1398 and 1398R, the 71Y7, 71Y71, 71Y72, 71Y73, 71Y7R, 71Y7V, 71Y7W and 71Y7Y, the 1739 and the BGU1451T.
