Bissell Handle Release Pedal - 3545 (Not for 3545-2)

This pedal releases the handle so it can be lowered out of its locked, upright position on a wide range of Bissell uprights, sold as part 1613085.

Two failure patterns show up here. In the milder case, the internal catch is cracked but still partly intact, and the handle no longer stands up on its own, sagging back down under its own weight instead of locking in place. In the more advanced case, that catch has snapped off completely, so pressing the pedal does nothing at all because there is no latch left to trip. Neither fault touches suction or cleaning performance, but a handle that will not stand up or release makes the machine awkward to store, carry, or wheel between rooms.

One important exception before ordering: this pedal does not fit the 3545-2, which uses a different lever entirely. Confirm your exact model number against the list below rather than assuming a similar-looking Bissell model is covered, since a mismatched pedal can look like it seats correctly without actually holding the handle upright.
