Product details
The upper nozzle with diverter for Bissell upright carpet cleaners, part 2030138, supplied with its gasket and screw. It fits the ProHeat 25A3, the ProHeat Advanced 1846 and the PowerSteamer 1623 series.
The diverter decides where airflow and recovered water go as they leave the nozzle. When the housing cracks, usually at a screw boss after a knock or from the tank being forced back on, the path leaks and the machine starts leaving water in carpet it should be lifting. A perished gasket does the same thing more gradually, which is why a new one comes with the nozzle.
Take the old gasket off with the old nozzle, fit the new one dry and square, and bring the screw up snug rather than tight, since over-torquing is what cracks these in the first place.
