Carpet Pro CPU250 and CPU350 uprights carry the power switch inside the foot pedal, and part B283-4900 is that whole black assembly, switch included. It fits the Titan T3200 and the Simplicity and Riccar S20EZM, and it also serves the Fuller Brush Jiffy Maid FB-JFM and FB-JFM-PET models that take switch C283-0014.
Because the switch is built into the pedal, one failure looks like several. The machine needs a firm stomp to start, or it starts and then cuts out when the handle is moved, or it will not switch off without working the pedal back and forth. Underneath that is usually a worn switch and a pedal whose pivot has gone slack, both from being operated by a shoe several thousand times.
Fitting the complete assembly replaces pedal and switch together, so the repair is done in one go rather than twice.
