This is the 12 amp motor for the Fuller Brush FBEZM and Titan T3200 uprights, part C283-2600. The same motor is fitted to the Carpet Pro CPU250 and to the Riccar and Simplicity S20EZM.
Motors announce themselves before they go. A burning or electrical smell, a grinding or high whine from the housing, power that drops out and comes back, or a machine that simply will not start: those are the symptoms, and none of them are fixed by a new bag, a clean filter or a fresh belt.
Replacing the motor is what returns the machine to full suction, and on a commercial upright it costs a fraction of a new vacuum. Rule out a blocked airway and a saturated filter first, though, because both will make a healthy motor sound and smell like a failing one.
