Product details
The height adjustment knob on a Lexan base is held to its threaded post by a small screw, and part 53143 is that screw sold ten to a pack. It sits behind the dial you turn to set nozzle height for carpet or bare floor, not the knob itself.
That screw is what keeps the knob from spinning free on its post. Once it strips or backs out, turning the knob no longer moves the height selector, or the selector drifts on its own while you clean, leaving the nozzle riding too high on carpet or dragging on hard floor. A ten-pack covers a shop working through several of these in one sitting, since the screw is easy to drop and rarely worth ordering one at a time. Check this screw first whenever a height setting will not hold, since replacing it costs a fraction of replacing the knob or the base it threads into.
Electrolux-Eureka lists it for the EP9025A, EP9025A1, EP9027A and EP9027A1. The same Lexan base and screw carry across a long run of Eureka and Sanitaire commercial uprights built on it, including the 1950A, 2118B, C2094GW, S635A, S645A, SC684F, SC688, SC689A, SC886F, SC886G, SC889A, SC899G, SC9050E and SL635B.
