Screw for the handle socket on Sanitaire SC886 uprights, part 53145, sold ten to a pack. It secures the handle where it pivots into the upper body, and the same fastener is listed for a wide run of Eureka and Sanitaire uprights.
This small screw backs out or strips more often than it looks like it should, because the handle socket takes leverage every time the machine reclines for use and stands back up. Once it loosens, the handle develops play at the socket, the machine feels loose in your hand, or you hear a rattle each time you push it forward.
It fits the Eureka and Sanitaire 1934A, 1950A, 2118B, 2122A, 2124A, 2134A, C2094G family, S635A, S645A, SC688, SC689A, SC886F, SC886G, SC899G and SL635B. Buying the pack covers a shop replacing sockets on several machines rather than one.
Confirm the thread and head match what came out before ordering. A screw that is close but not quite right will strip the plastic socket on the first turn rather than seating cleanly, and a stripped socket turns a small fastener job into a much larger one. If the original screw is long gone, check the fit by hand before driving anything home.
