This replacement bag spring (part #32-2500-02) is the slide-and-clamp spring for CL-style bag holders, fitting Eureka and Sanitaire vacuums including the SC888M. The spring holds the bag collar or clamp firmly against the intake so the bag stays sealed to the airflow port during use.
A weak or broken spring lets the bag collar loosen, which breaks the seal and lets dust escape around the connection instead of entering the bag. A fresh spring restores firm clamping pressure and a tight bag seal.
