Hoover's CH54100 Taskvac is a commercial upright, and this is its handle assembly, the part the operator holds for the whole of a shift. It is stocked as part 440015515.
Handles fail from fatigue rather than from any single event. The tube works loose in its mounting, a crack opens at the moulding, and the machine develops that vague, flexing feel that makes it tiring to steer and awkward to lift onto a landing. On a machine used daily, that is a comfort and control problem, not a cosmetic one.
Replacing the assembly deals with the whole handle in one go rather than chasing individual worn components. It fits the Hoover CH54100. Unplug the machine first, and note how the cord is routed and secured along the old handle before you strip it, so the new one goes back the same way.
