Lid for the dirty water tank on the Hoover SmartWash, part 440012811. It fits the SmartWash, SmartWash Gen 2 and SmartWash PET machines, including the FH52000 and FH52000G, FH52001 and FH52001G, FH52002 and FH52002G, the FH52005CDI, FH52013 and FH52023V, and the FH53000, FH53000PC and FH53010.
The lid does more than keep the tank covered. The recovery tank sits inside the suction path, so the lid has to seal against the tank rim for the machine to lift water at all. A warped lid, a nicked seal or a latch that no longer pulls it down tight will cost you suction at the nozzle and let dirty water slop out whenever the machine is tipped.
Clear any hair or grit off the sealing face before latching a new lid down, since that is where most seals start to fail.
