Hoover Seal Agitator Pulley - U5445

Agitator pulley seal for the Hoover U5445, part 38781053. It seals the point where the brush roll's drive pulley passes through the nozzle wall, keeping the belt side clean and stopping air leaking out of the suction path at that joint.

Fitment is broad across the Hoover upright range, covering the CH50010, the U5142900 through U5156900 models, the U53019RM and U53029RM, the U5330900 to U5349900 series, the U5361900 to U5399900 models, and the U5402900 through U5447900 range.

When the seal hardens or tears, hair and fine grit work into the pulley bearing and the nozzle loses a measurable amount of its draw at the mouth. The brush roll usually starts squealing on start-up as the bearing dries out. Replace the seal while the sole plate is already off for a belt change, or you will do the same teardown twice.
