Poly-V drive belt for Hoover WindTunnel-2 uprights in the U8300 series, part 38528050. It fits the U8311900, U8347900, U8351900 and U8351950, and carries over to the UH30065, UH70010, UH70015 and UH70020.
A Poly-V belt drives through ribs rather than friction alone, so it holds the brush roll near motor speed instead of slipping as it warms. When one wears, the ribs round off and the belt starts to slip under load. Carpet needs two or three passes, the brush sounds like it is bogging down in deep pile, and eventually the roll stops turning altogether while the motor runs on unchanged.
Route the new belt over the motor pulley and the brush roll pulley with the sole plate off, and take the chance to cut wound hair from the brush ends. Three to six months is a reasonable replacement interval in a busy house.
