This turbo brush tool, part 302598001, is an attachment that uses the vacuum's own airflow to spin a brush roll inside the nozzle, without needing an electrical connection to the wand. It is built to attach to a long list of Hoover steam vacuums and the Royal FR50152.
The spinning brush agitates upholstery, stair treads, and carpeted surfaces the main floor nozzle cannot reach well, which helps pull embedded pet hair and ground-in debris out of fabric. When the internal turbine bogs down or stops spinning, the tool still picks up surface debris but stops agitating it loose, so it is worth checking the brush and turbine for tangled hair or thread before assuming the tool has failed.
