Product details
Inside a Kirby upright, the belt lifter body is the small casting the lifter lever pivots against, and 159293S is the version built for the Generation 4 machine. Any time the lever is used to raise the belt clear of the motor shaft, whether to change the belt itself or clear a jammed nozzle, this casting absorbs the force.
Wear usually shows up as looseness at the lever first. A lever that once felt firm starts to rock, the belt rides against the shaft when it should be lifted well clear, and eventually the lever loses its grip entirely and will not hold any position. Hairline cracking around the pivot is almost always the underlying cause, and once a crack is visible it does not stay small for long under repeated use.
159293S matches the Generation 4 machine specifically. Other machines in the Generation line take their own belt lifter body numbers, so confirm the number on the old casting rather than judging by appearance, since a body from a neighboring Generation can look close and still fail to seat or pivot the way it should.
This is the body of the belt lifter rather than the complete mechanism, so work out which piece has actually failed before ordering. A lever that will not hold can also come from worn or missing hardware around it, and in that case a new casting on its own will not settle the complaint. If the old body comes out intact with no cracking anywhere around the pivot, look further into the assembly before replacing it.
