Product details
This casting is the belt lifter body from the Kirby Generation 6, part number 159299S. The lifter lever pivots inside it, and the assembly is what raises the drive belt clear of the motor shaft when you change a belt or take the nozzle off.
A tired one is easy to spot. The lever feels loose or gritty through its travel, the belt is not fully released when the lever is set, or the lever springs back on its own. Once the casting has cracked at the pivot, no amount of adjustment brings it back.
It is a Generation 6 part, and Kirby's other Generation machines use their own castings, so match the number stamped on the old one before ordering rather than going by appearance.
