Part 110393 is the on/off pedal for the Kirby Generation 4. It caps the switch mechanism at the base of the upright and gives you the flat surface you press to start and stop the vacuum.
The pedal takes a boot every time the machine is used, so cracks tend to start at the hinge and work across. A broken or missing pedal leaves the switch hardware underneath open to grit and makes starting the vacuum an awkward, fiddly business, since you end up pressing on the bare mechanism.
A new pedal seats on the original mounting and restores a firm, positive feel at the foot. Unplug the Kirby before you remove the old one. This pedal is listed for the Generation 4; if your machine is a different Kirby generation, check the part number on the base first.
