Product details
The fan on an Oreck upright is held to the motor shaft by a single nut, and because the shaft turns one way, the nut is threaded the other. Left-hand thread, 1/4 x 32, yellow chrome finish. Part 03-00448-01 is that nut, also catalogued as 880-5037.
It matters more than its size suggests. A nut that has been rounded off, stripped or corroded will not clamp the fan properly, and a fan even slightly loose on the shaft wobbles, rattles, chews at the hub and bleeds suction. It is also the part most often destroyed by someone turning it the wrong way during a fan swap.
It fits the many Oreck uprights that take type CC bags, including the 100C, 9100C, 9200, 9300, 9400, the U2000EB and U2000RB-1, the 4070H2L through 4120H2R range, the 4490HH and the UK30270.
