Product details

AMV89V5L00U is the control board fitted in two Panasonic canisters, the MC-CG885 and the MC-CG887, the small piece of electronics that sits between the machine's controls and the motor itself. Whatever the operator selects at the machine's controls routes through this board before the motor ever responds.

When it starts failing, the symptoms rarely point straight at it. A canister that won't power on at all, one that runs but no longer answers its controls, or one whose behavior shifts from one outing to the next can each trace back to the same faulty board, since the machine's switching and control functions converge on it. Chasing those symptoms individually, a switch here, a fuse there, often burns more time than simply swapping the board that ties them together. It's also common for one of these symptoms to appear weeks before the others, which can make the fault look intermittent right up until the board fails outright. Rule out the simple causes all the same before ordering electronics: a damaged cord, a dead outlet, or a clogged filter starving the motor can each imitate electronic trouble, and every one of them costs nothing to check.

Disconnect the machine from power before removing the housing, and take a moment to note how the old board's connectors are seated before pulling them free, so each one returns exactly where it came from.

  • Part: AMV89V5L00U, control circuit board
  • Fits: Panasonic canister vacuums MC-CG885 and MC-CG887
  • Function: control circuit board linking the machine's controls to the motor

Replacing the board is a straightforward repair for a canister that's otherwise in good shape, restoring normal control without a drawn-out diagnostic process.
