Part AC10ACXWZV07 is the nozzle bumper for the Panasonic MC-UG729 Platinum upright, and it fits the MC-UL975 as well. It runs along the leading edge of the cleaning head — the part of the machine that meets furniture legs, baseboards and door frames all day long.
Bumpers fail slowly and quietly. The material hardens, loses its give, then cracks at the corners or works free of its retaining slots. Once it is gone, contact is plastic against paint, and the evidence turns up as grey scuffs along skirting boards long before anyone connects it to the vacuum.
It presses back into place without tools. With the bumper off it is worth glancing at the nozzle wheels and the front edge trim, since whatever has been chewing the bumper has usually been working on those too.
