This is a replacement power cord for a run of Panasonic vacuums, also sold under the Panasonic / Kenmore product line, part KC97EBZXZV06. It delivers electricity from the wall outlet through to the machine's motor.
A cord that is frayed, nicked, or cracked at the strain relief is an electrical hazard and should be replaced before the vacuum is used again. A cord that runs warm to the touch, or a machine that cuts in and out during use, points to internal damage rather than a simple loose connection.
