Product details
Powr-Flite's Comfort Pro 6-quart backpack vacuum, covering both the BP6P and BP6S designations, uses this tank lid as part X9666. The lid is what closes that tank off, so its condition governs suction performance throughout the whole machine no matter how much power the motor still has.
A backpack vacuum's lid takes more physical abuse than an equivalent part on an upright or canister, since the whole unit is worn on the operator's back, set down on floors between jobs, and occasionally dropped. Damage turns up first where the lid clamps down against the tank, since that edge takes the load every time the tank is opened and closed. A lid that no longer pulls down tight all the way round, and one that has cracked anywhere along that edge, both show up the same way at the machine: reduced suction, and a faint hiss of air escaping at the lid seam while the motor runs.
Because the lid and tank interface directly, check the tank rim for cracks or warping when you replace the lid, since a damaged rim will keep leaking even with a new lid installed.
- Part number: X9666
- What it is: replacement tank lid
- Application: Powr-Flite Comfort Pro 6-quart backpack tank, BP6P and BP6S
- Sold: each
Compare the old lid against the new one before fitting anything, since a Comfort Pro that has been serviced before will not always carry the parts it originally shipped with. Transfer over any hardware your unit keeps on the lid itself, then close the replacement and check that it draws down evenly all the way round before the machine goes back to work.
