Intake adapter for Beam and Electrolux central vacuum power units, sold as ProTeam part 105149. Fitted at the system's intake, it lets a power unit built around loose collection instead run a disposable paper bag.
Central vacuum units without a bag still catch dirt and dust somewhere, usually settling it inside the canister housing itself, which means opening the unit and clearing it out by hand every so often, often stirring up whatever settled dust is loosest right back into the room. Adding this adapter changes that arrangement: debris collects inside a disposable bag instead, and it leaves the canister with the bag rather than as loose dust when the housing is opened.
Homeowners usually make this switch once they have grown tired of clearing loose debris out of the canister by hand and would rather deal with a disposable bag instead. It is a one-time change rather than an ongoing part, since once it is fitted the system keeps running bagged going forward with only the bag itself needing periodic replacement.
Compatibility runs across a broad set of Beam power units: the 165, the SC300 line, and the SC225, SC275, SC295, SC325, SC375, SC395, SC3500, SC3700 and SC3900 variants.
