Product details

Six ProTeam upright models share this same breaker: the 1200XP, 1500XP, ProForce 1500, ProForce 1500XP, ProForce 1500 HEPA and ProCare 15XP. Part 104212 sits directly in the motor's power path, tripping open only for real cause, whether that is a brush roll seized solid, an airway packed with debris, or an aging motor pulling more current than the circuit was rated to pass.

Age changes how a breaker misbehaves in one of two directions. Some start tripping for no discernible reason at all; others refuse to reset no matter how long the machine sits idle and cool with nothing obstructing it. Either failure mode presents almost identically to a seized motor from where the operator stands, yet the part itself costs a fraction of a motor replacement. A quick test settles which one is at fault: spin the brush roll by hand, confirm the airway runs clear, and if the unit still trips within seconds of power-on, the breaker deserves the first look rather than the motor.

Disconnect the vacuum from its outlet before opening the housing to reach the breaker itself, and rule out a jammed roll or blocked passage before concluding the breaker needs swapping.

  • Part: 104212, resettable circuit breaker
  • Fits: ProTeam ProForce 1200XP, 1500XP, ProForce 1500, ProForce 1500XP, ProForce 1500 HEPA, ProCare 15XP
  • Function: interrupts the motor circuit under a fault condition and resets once the fault clears
  • Replace when: the machine trips repeatedly with no obstruction found, or will not reset even once cold
  • Before ordering: rule out a jammed brush roll or blocked airway first, since either can trip a healthy breaker
