The right-side pivot bushing for MV-platform Riccar and Simplicity uprights is part B470-2100, moulded in black to match the machine. It sits in the pivot and takes the rubbing so the surrounding housing does not.
Symptoms of a spent bushing are easy to read: side-to-side play at the joint, a knocking sound as the machine changes direction, or a pivot that has started to feel gritty. New bushings restore the tight, quiet action, and most technicians replace the left (B470-2000B) at the same visit.
