SEBO Handle Catch for X4, X...

Product details
Step on the pedal and the handle drops; stand the machine back up and it clicks home. The handle catch is what makes both of those things happen, and part 1859DG is the dark grey one for the SEBO X4 and X5 uprights and for the 370.
It is a wear item by design. Every park and every recline loads the same small latch, and on a machine used daily that is thousands of cycles a year against a moulding the size of a thumb. Colour is worth checking before you order, because SEBO has run this catch in more than one finish and the dark grey is what matches a dark grey handle assembly.
- Fits: the SEBO X4, X5 and 370 uprights
- Colour: dark grey
- Job: holds the handle upright when parked and releases it at the pedal
- Other finishes: listed separately as 1859GS, 1859SB and 1859SG, each with its own fitment
- Installation: seats in the existing housing with no modification
- Order as: SEBO part 1859DG
A tired catch announces itself clearly enough. The handle sags forward on its own while you are trying to work, or it refuses to click into place when the machine is stood up, or it needs a definite shove before it will let go. Some people get used to a machine that has to be nudged; the fix is one small moulding rather than a whole new upright.
Fitting one is straightforward with the machine unplugged and laid on its back, but photograph the spring and the catch in place before anything comes out, because the spring only works one way round. Look over the pedal linkage while you are in there: a catch that has been fighting a bent or stiff pedal will wear out again quickly.
This is the listing for anyone searching a SEBO X5 handle catch, an X4 handle latch replacement or genuine SEBO 1859DG. Check the finish against the handle you have before ordering, and inspect the pivot pin while the catch is out.
