SEBO Vacuum Motor Seal for FELIX, DART and 370 Series Uprights

Air that escapes inside the machine never does any work at the floor. The vacuum motor sits in a sealed chamber, and part 1047 is the SEBO gasket that closes the gap between motor and housing so the whole airstream is drawn through the bag and filters rather than around them.

SEBO places it at position 7 on the FELIX parts sheet and position 8 on the DART sheet, identified on both as the vacuum motor seal. Seals compress, harden and take a permanent set over years of heat cycling, and a flattened one leaks quietly: suction falls away with no blockage anywhere to find, and the bag stops filling the way it used to. Renewing the seal during a carbon or bearing job avoids a second teardown later, since an old gasket rarely re-seats as well once it has been disturbed and lifted. Set the motor down squarely on the new seal and draw its fixings up evenly rather than one at a time, so the gasket compresses across its whole face.
