SEBO Sensor Pulley for X Series, 300 and 350 UPTS Power Nozzles

Small part, very specific job. Part 5117-01, carried by SEBO under the factory reference 5117/1, is the sensor pulley that turns in the belt path of the UPTS power nozzle and gives the monitoring circuit its reading of what the brush roller is actually doing.

SEBO fits these nozzles with electronic roller sensing so that the machine can warn you the moment agitation stops, whether the cause is a jam, an obstruction wrapped around the roller, a slipping belt or a belt that has snapped outright. The pulley is the mechanical half of that arrangement: as it turns it feeds the monitoring circuit a reading of roller speed, so the accuracy of the whole warning rests on this one component running true. Once it is worn, cracked or seized, the reading goes wrong in one of two directions. Either the roller warning lights with nothing jammed at all, which owners quickly learn to ignore, or it stays dark long after the belt has failed, which is the worse outcome because the nozzle is being pushed around doing no agitation whatsoever. A new pulley makes the indicator worth trusting again.

It is worth knowing that this part sits in the belt path, so anything that has been abusing the belt has been abusing the pulley as well. A belt that has run hot, tracked off line, or been left slipping for weeks tends to leave the pulley glazed or worn on one face. Fitting a new pulley to an old, stretched belt usually means doing the job twice, so inspect both together while the nozzle is open.
