Product details
The roller shaft in an X series UPTS power nozzle is carried at both ends, and part 5031DB is the dark blue block that takes the right side. It sets that shaft at the correct height and angle so the brush strips meet carpet evenly across the full working width of the nozzle.
A bearing block is doing geometry as much as it is doing bearing work. If it sets the roller a degree out of true, the strips press hard on one side and skim the other, and the carpet is agitated unevenly without anything looking obviously wrong. Play in the block announces itself first as noise, a rumble or a chatter traceable to one end of the nozzle, then as a brush strip worn flat along only part of its length, and finally as a belt that runs hot and begins to squeal because it is being dragged off line. Renewing the block is a far smaller job than replacing the roller and belt it has been steadily chewing through.
Bearing blocks are handed, so the right-hand and left-hand parts are not interchangeable and carry different numbers. This is the right-hand block. Colour identifies it as much as the side does, since SEBO produced the same component in finishes to match the various body schemes across the X series, and the dark blue moulding is what this part number supplies. If both ends of the roller have been noisy, replacing the pair at once is the sensible approach, because a roller carried on one worn bearing has generally been leaning its load onto the opposite block.
- Side: right hand
- Fitment: SEBO X series UPTS power nozzles
- Shade: dark blue
- Job: sets roller height and alignment at the right-hand end
- Replace when: the roller wobbles, one side of the brush strip wears early, or the belt drags and squeals
- Part number: 5031DB
- Other finish: the arctic white and gray right-hand bearing block is SEBO 5031WE
If the roller has been running out of line, look the belt over before refitting, because a belt that has been tracking crooked rarely settles back down. Ordered as SEBO 5031DB, the dark blue right-side roller block for UPTS nozzles, out within 2-5 business days.
