SEBO Antistatic Wire for AU...

Product details
Dry air, synthetic carpet and a brush roll turning at speed make a fair static generator, and the charge has to go somewhere. SEBO runs a thin antistatic wire up through the handle assembly to bleed it away steadily instead of letting it build until it jumps to the hand on the grip. Part 5253UL is the replacement wire.
SEBO lists it at position 9 of the AUTOMATIC X7 / X8 exploded diagram. Its neighbours on that sheet are the pieces you have to disturb to reach it — the switch at position 5, the switch cap holder at position 7 and the cable clamp 5162 at position 8 — which is a useful sense of the job: the wire is not a bolt-on, it is threaded through the handle with the switchgear. That is also why SEBO supplies its handle grip assemblies with this wire already installed, so an owner facing a cracked grip and a broken wire at the same time is usually better served by a complete grip than by two separate repairs.
Fitment is unusually wide. It covers the SEBO AUTOMATIC X1, X2, X4, X4 Boost, X5, X7 Premium, X7 Pet and X8, and the ESSENTIAL G1, G2, G4 and G5. Static shocks off the handle, or a machine that has become noticeably clingy with pet hair and lint, are the usual symptoms that send people looking for this part.
