Product details

A staircase run is the case where Hayden's standard 45 and 90-degree fittings simply do not match the geometry involved. Part 762038 is molded at a shallower 38-degree bend, tracking the pitch a typical stair stringer actually follows so a pipe can travel alongside the stairs and reach an inlet set mid-flight or on a landing without zigzagging.

When the fitting angle is wrong for the space, an installer usually ends up adding an extra joint or two just to correct back to a workable line, and each added joint in the run is one more place for a seal to weaken or debris to catch over the years. Starting with a fitting cut to the correct pitch keeps the whole stair section as tight as a straight run would be.

It cements into standard tubing exactly like the rest of a Hayden system. Reach for this one specifically when a stairway inlet is going in for the first time, or when swapping out a cracked or failing fitting on an existing stair section, rather than forcing a standard-angle elbow to fight the same geometry problem all over again.

Stocking one of these ahead of a stair-inlet job avoids a return trip: finding out mid-install that the standard-angle elbows on hand do not sit flush against the stringer is the kind of delay a correctly angled fitting sidesteps entirely.

  • Part: 762038, 38-degree elbow
  • Purpose: Matches the shallow pitch of a stair-run installation
  • Material: PVC, cemented joint
  • Use case: New stairway inlet installs or replacing a failing fitting on an existing stair run
