Product details
Part 1405496510 is the power switch fitted to the Advance Comfort Pak 10, a commercial backpack vacuum also sold as the Nilfisk Comfort Pak 10 and the Clarke Comfort Pak 10. The identical switch carries over to the UZ964 and UZ934 backpacks too, so this single part number covers every badge regardless of which name is stamped on the housing.
A worn switch is the single most common reason a backpack vacuum stops turning on. A commercial backpack gets cycled on and off constantly through every shift, and the switch contacts wear down long before the motor does. The failure shows up in a few familiar ways: the machine holds power only while the switch is held in one exact spot, the unit drops out the instant the harness shifts against your back, or the machine stays completely dead despite a cord and outlet that both check out fine. Some switches fail intermittently for weeks before quitting outright, which can make the problem easy to dismiss the first few times it happens.
Before ordering, rule out the simple things. A tripped breaker, a bad outlet, or a damaged cord can mimic a switch failure, so test the machine on a known-good outlet first. If the motor still will not hold power once that is ruled out, the switch is the next likely part, well ahead of the motor itself.
- Part: 1405496510
- Fits: Advance Comfort Pak 10, Nilfisk Comfort Pak 10, Clarke Comfort Pak 10, UZ964, UZ934
- Function: main power switch for the vacuum motor
- Symptom: machine will not power on, or cuts out unless the switch is held just so
This job opens the machine up and puts you in contact with line-voltage wiring, so unplug the vacuum before starting and transfer the leads from the old switch one at a time so each lands back in its matching position.
