Product details
On a Sharp EC12SX6, EC12TX6 or EC12TX8 upright, the drive belt turns the brush roll through a small pulley at the end of the roller. That pulley is this part, FPLYBA002VBK0, and it usually wears out long before the brush roll itself does.
A worn pulley is easy to diagnose. The belt squeals on start-up, the brush roll slows or stops when it meets carpet, and the machine starts leaving lines of dirt behind on the pile. Look at the groove: if it is glazed smooth, cracked, or rounded off at the edges, the belt has nothing left to grip.
Change the belt at the same time, since a belt that has been slipping has been running hot and has almost certainly stretched. Check the model number on the plate under your Sharp before ordering.
