The left-hand end of a brush roll turns inside its own bearing block, and on the SEBO AUTOMATIC X2 and the AUTOMATIC X5 that block is part 5767HG. It is the internal left-hand unit, built up at the factory, so housing and bearing surface arrive as one piece rather than as components to press together on the bench.
Wound hair is what finishes these off. Thread and pet hair gather at the exposed shaft end, work past the seal, pack solid inside the bearing and drive out the grease that ought to be in there. The roll then feels notchy when spun by hand, whines under load, or sits fractionally out of line so the drive belt stops running square in its groove. Any of those symptoms alongside an undamaged belt points at the block rather than at the belt or the motor.
Left and right are separate castings and neither will stand in for the other. The right-hand side of these machines is served by its own numbers, 5031WE being the white right-hand block, and a second left-hand block is catalogued under 5766HG for different machines in the range — which is exactly why ordering against a part number beats ordering against a description.
While the nozzle is apart, strip the wound debris off both shaft ends and off the roll itself. A new block dropped into a dirty head starts its life under the same attack that killed the last one, and the toothed belt that runs between the sensor and the bearing block deserves a look at the same time.
