Dark gray, easily overlooked, and directly responsible for how quietly a brush roll runs: part 2079DG is the bearing plate fitted inside an ET-C power head from SEBO. Its job is to cap and locate a brush roll bearing so the shaft cannot drift while the roll is loaded against carpet.
Once the plate splits, the bearing behind it gains play. The audible symptom is a rattle or a rhythmic knock in time with roll speed; the visible one is a roll sitting slightly proud at one end, with bristles wearing unevenly across its length and the belt tracking towards the high side. A plate that has cracked but not yet fallen out is the awkward stage, because the head still runs and the noise is easy to put down to something caught in the roll.
Changing the plate takes minutes while the roll is already out for cleaning, so it is worth doing as part of a routine hair-removal service rather than as a separate job. Check the bearing itself in the same operation: if the plate failed because the bearing had already started moving, a new plate on its own will be back in the same condition before long. Bearing blocks 2047 and 2091 sit at the two ends of the same roll and are the parts to inspect alongside it.
