Clean tank valve insert and cap, Bissell part 1608691, for the CrossWave range: the 1785 machines, the 2306 and 2328 Pet Pro models, the 2551 cordless and the 2554A and 2593 Cordless Max, plus the 2592 BarkBath.
The valve is the part that lets the tank hold solution until it is seated, then opens to feed the machine. It is a small moulding carrying the seal, and when that seal hardens the tank either drips continuously once filled or refuses to feed at all, so the roller runs dry against the floor.
Because the cap and insert come together, you replace the whole sealing path rather than guessing which half is leaking. Check the seat in the tank is free of grit before fitting, and hand-tighten only.
