Product details

Bissell's 3428 HydroSteam runs two brush rolls, and this geared belt, part 1635393, is the one that links them, carrying drive from the first roller across to the second. It also fits the 3424.

Because the belt is toothed, both rollers stay in step under load instead of slipping against each other. When the teeth wear or strip, one roller keeps turning and the other stalls, and the machine scrubs on half its width. It is an awkward fault to diagnose from above: spray and suction are both fine, but one side of the cleaning path comes up noticeably cleaner than the other.

Seat the belt so the teeth mesh cleanly on both pulleys, and look for rounding on the pulley teeth while everything is apart.
