Baseboards, chair legs and door frames take their share of knocks from any upright. Part 5005GS is the gray black bumper set that absorbs them on the SEBO AUTOMATIC X1, the AUTOMATIC X4 and the AUTOMATIC X4 Boost, supplied as a set rather than as single strips so the machine ends up with matching trim all the way round.
Bumper material stiffens with age, sunlight and repeated impact until it splits at the mounting points and drops away, usually one section at a time and usually from the corner that meets the furniture most often. From then on the bare housing is what meets the woodwork, and both come off badly: chipped molding on the machine, scuffed paint on the trim. The set is one of the few parts on an upright bought for appearance as much as for function, and it is the quickest way to make a machine that has been earning its keep for years look cared for again.
