Suction relief on the ESSENTIAL G1 and the ESSENTIAL G2 is handled by a bypass valve, and part 2835 supplies that valve with its wiring already made up. A bypass valve opens a secondary path into the airstream when the main route through the bag, hose or wand is choked, so the motor keeps drawing air instead of running against a closed system. Taking the part as an assembly means no splicing on the bench and no guesswork about which lead lands where.

This is the part reached for when a blocked hose no longer produces the response the machine is meant to give, when the valve sticks open and the head feels short of pull on carpet, or when the lead at the valve has chafed against the housing and the connection has gone intermittent. Because the wiring runs with it, a failure here can present as an electrical fault rather than an airflow one, which is worth remembering before more expensive electronics are suspected on a G1 or G2.

Pull the plug from the outlet before the body is opened, and photograph the lead routing while everything is still in place — the valve sits deep enough that the return trip is much easier with a picture to work from. While the machine is apart, a clogged filter path is worth ruling out as the real cause of the restriction: exhaust filter 2846 covers the ESSENTIAL G machines, microfilter 5036AM and HEPA microfilter 5812ER handle the intake side, and filter bag box 5093AM is the bag to fit. The other G1 and G2 electrical parts commonly ordered with it are computer controller 2881ER and PCB power supply 2890ER.
