Product details

Where the nozzle's air path bolts up to the body of the machine, a rubber ring, part Z19, keeps that connection airtight on a broad family of related commercial uprights built around the Carpet Pro CPU2T.

A machine loses ground silently once this ring has hardened, shrunk, and lost the memory to spring back into shape. Every bit of outside air pulled in through that gap is air that skipped the nozzle entirely, so the motor keeps sounding exactly as strong as it always has, even while pickup at the floor quietly falls off. Most people go looking in the bag, the hose, and the filters first, since none of those symptoms point directly at a joint hidden behind the nozzle housing.

Sitting between two rigid plastic surfaces rather than absorbing much flex, this gasket ages mostly from heat and time rather than from movement, so a machine simply old in years of service is a better bet for a hardened ring than one merely run hard for a shorter stretch. Running your fingers around the seam while the machine is on is a fast way to confirm it: a failing joint here gives off a faint, steady thread of air distinct from the strong pull at the nozzle opening itself.

Beyond the CPU2T, the same ring fits the Titan T4000, T4000.2, TC6000 and TC6000.2, the Fuller Brush FBHD1 and FBPHD2, the Clean Max CMPSQD, and a further run of Carpet Pro numbers: the CMP3N, CMP3QD, CMP3T, CPU1QD, CPU3N, CPU3QD, CPU4N and CPU4T.

  • Part: Z19, suction inlet gasket
  • Fits: Carpet Pro CPU2T, CMP3N, CMP3QD, CMP3T, CPU1QD, CPU3N, CPU3QD, CPU4N, CPU4T, Clean Max CMPSQD, Fuller Brush FBHD1, FBPHD2, Titan T4000, T4000.2, TC6000, TC6000.2
  • Function: seals the joint between the nozzle air path and the machine body
  • Replace when: suction has dropped at the nozzle but the motor sounds normal and filters are clean
  • Quick check: feel around the joint by hand while the machine runs for a faint stream of leaking air
