This nozzle hose cuff, part 54.170, is the molded end fitting on the Carpet Pro CPU1T and CPU2T, also listed for the Carpet Pro CMP3T.
Cuffs fail in two different ways, and each calls for a different check. A split in the cuff itself often shows as a hairline that only opens while the joint is bent, so flex it by hand instead of trusting a look at it. The other failure is the hose creeping out of a cuff that has lost its grip, which leaves the joint whistling under suction while the cuff looks perfectly sound from outside. Either way the symptom at the floor is the same: pickup has gone soft while the motor still sounds strong.

- Use: reseats and reseals the hose end without replacing the full hose
- Before fitting: check the hose end itself for cracks so you are not fitting a new cuff onto a hose that also needs replacing
Seat the replacement cuff completely onto the hose end, then snap it into the port until it locks, for a tight, leak-free connection.
