The status display on an AUTOMATIC X4 Boost is mounted in the top of the cleaning head rather than on the body of the machine. SEBO supplies it in two finishes, and 5799GS is the gray black one, specified for the red and the white builds.
Putting a readout at floor level makes it vulnerable in a way that a body panel never is. Skirting boards, chair legs and stair edges reach the head before anything else on the machine, and the lens sits close to the dust the roller is throwing up. Two outcomes follow from that. Abrasion frosts the surface until whatever is lit underneath can no longer be made out, or a knock splits the moulding and grit begins finding its way into the recess behind. Neither reverses, and a split lens turns an appearance problem into a contamination problem.
Finish is the only difference between this panel and its counterpart, because SEBO colour-matches the display to the machine. Graphite builds take silver panel 5799SB. Confirming which one you need is easy once you look at the cover it sits in: heads using 5799GS are those fitted with power head cover 50799DR on red machines or 50799WE on white ones, so the cover number verifies the display number before anything is ordered.
