Carpet pile that stops lifting is the first hint a nozzle belt has stretched. Belt 2049 carries drive from the brush motor pulley across to the brush roll in the SEBO ET-C Power Heads and the SEBO ELECTRONIC 370, and it is sold as a single belt.

Rubber glazes, hardens and loses tension long before it ever snaps, which is why the loss of agitation creeps up unnoticed. A slipping belt lets the roll turn slower than the motor commands, so fine grit stays down in the pile even though the suction at the hose feels perfectly normal. That is the trap with this fault: every test an owner naturally reaches for, hand over the nozzle, hose off the machine, points at a vacuum that is working properly, while the one thing that has failed is the part doing the brushing.

Look the belt over every time the roll comes out for hair removal and change it at the first sign of shine, cracking or a flattened section. If a new belt fails quickly, the pulley or a bearing block is the more likely culprit rather than the belt itself — a grooved pulley face gives fresh rubber nothing to grip, and a worn block lets the roll run out of line so the belt tracks off its seat.
